Steeplechaser-in-training?!?!

Happy New Year!
Life after Christmas have been miserable. Rain, rain and more rain. On Boxing Day I
It was declared that we were living in flood warning zone. Though the chance of property damage was to be minimal, it is sad doing early morning checks to see my favourite training path diminishing.

On Saturday morning I decided to do my normal route...new lakes in this patch which was the 'parking lot' for rowers before the regatta in the summer..

Parts of the Thames path were cut off, so we went into the side streets and continued on. But really, I had no intention to train for rio 2016 as a steeplechaser for any team in the world that would take me...

Glad that the first day of 2013 turned out nice and bright. Even though I hit the sack at 3 am I still motivated myself to drive to Richmond park for the New Years Parkrun...but I misread the notice. The closest one bushy park was on but in 15 mins time and being unfamiliar driving territory. I decided to stay put and did a Freedom Parkrun at Richmond park instead.

Lots easier than last week, but being the first and last in this time trial & the fatigue added up, and I finished a minute faster than Christmas!

Not good enough! But nice to be out there on a clear blue sky winter.

Hmm..I will be back, Richmond park, very soon!
