An undiscovered moor

The weather warmed up this weekend and time to seriously try out the orthotics! Proud to report I did 2 runs over both days of the weekend. In long sleeves, gloves, compression pants and headscarf and my new hydration belt.

Saturday was along my old route and Sunday, I decided to give a bit of running along the pavement...and slightly off the beaten track to a nearby moor that I never knew existed! turned back when I was about to intersect an overpass that looked like the M25.

Since I'm still not 'officially' training I'm still allowed to take pictures, of the white horses that I thought could become my friends..

not. they will not replace 'my' dumsey meadow cows...these were kept behind barbed wire with a sign saying 'Private..keep out!'
That's the end of my exploration.

More exciting adventures when I gradually build up my mileage hopefully soon...

P.S. just checked the map and realised that Bray (of Fat Duck fame) is just behind the far corner of Dorney Lake...wonder if that would persuade anybody to do Race your Pace Half Marathon with me where I can think about good food after each lap?

oh! my blank running journal..

shows how long I havent been running. the few visits to the gym a week have dwindled due to first, having a cold, and then, to the big freeze...

Big fat zeros along with my getting fatter figure...no!

so time to dig up my old blog...migrated to a new spot!

some motivation...and I must say I'm slowly coming back. Got my new orthotics last friday and slowly easing into them. they are custom made and feel like two little balls pinching at my heel, right where it hurts. Its meant to hurt initially, said my podiatrist, as well as hurt when you are resting on your feet (i think)...he said I'm not meant to rest when I am running!

this now makes my asics shoes and orthotics one of the most expensive pair of shoes i ever owned..must keep running and not to lose it.

and time to start thinking about next year's training, or training sessions starting just before christmas. My friend Rina got me a book 'Running well', which I should start soon enough..

diet wise: i have been a lunch time vegetarian (bar fridays and weekends) for 4 days in a row! what an achievement ;P
